Advancing PFAS analysis with high-precision technology
The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), led by Dr. Björn Meermann, is developing new methods to improve the analysis of hard-to-detect per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). For years, his team has relied on the contrAA 800 atomic absorption spectrometer from Analytik Jena, which enables highly precise multi-element measurements even for complex substances. With this powerful technology, BAM obtains fast and reliable results even from the most challenging PFAS samples – and has also received awards. This significantly advances environmental analytics.
